Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park
Located just 10 miles north-west of Basseterre, in the Sandy Point and easily accessible from the island’s main road, the Brimstone Hill Fortress-also known as the “Gibraltar of the West Indies –is a World Heritage Site, which rises majestically from the upper slopes and flattened top of a 750 foot volcanic cone. In addition to a panoramic view of the countryside, this site also provides Caribbean history at the Visitor’s Centre and the museum. There is also a gift shop on site which opens from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm Monday to Saturday.
